TamaV, operated by Miku Suto (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides VocabApp.
Contact: support@tamav-inc.com
This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use VocabApp (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
The Service is not intended for children under 13. If you are under 13, do not use the Service. If we learn we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete it. If local law in your jurisdiction sets a higher age or other rules for minors, you are responsible for complying with those rules when you use the Service.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Account and authentication
When you create an account, we process information such as:
•
Email address and password (or credentials you use with our authentication provider)
•
Session and security-related tokens needed to keep you signed in
2.2 Content and activity you provide
Depending on how you use VocabApp, we may process:
•
Vocabulary data you create or import (e.g., decks, cards, meanings, example sentences)
•
Study and review activity associated with your account (e.g., review outcomes, timing)
•
Optional feedback you submit (e.g., issue reports you send through the app)
2.3 AI and language features
To provide certain features (such as example generation, translations, or audio), text you choose to send may be transmitted to our AI and translation providers so they can process the request and return a result. We do not use that content to train our own models. Those providers handle information they receive under their own terms and privacy policies.
Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. We receive and store subscription-related records needed to operate billing (for example, subscription status and identifiers that link your account to Stripe). We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers; Stripe handles card data according to its policies.
2.5 Technical and log information
Like most online services, we and vendors that host or deliver the Service may process technical information such as IP address, device or browser type, approximate location derived from IP, timestamps, and diagnostic logs. We use this to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
We do not use third-party advertising or behavioral analytics services aimed at tracking you across apps or sites for marketing. If we introduce such tools in the future, we will update this policy.
2.6 Local storage on your device
On mobile and web, the app may store data on your device (for example, session or preferences) so the Service works offline or loads faster. You can often clear this through device or browser settings; doing so may sign you out or reset local state.
3. How we use information
We use the information above to:
•
Provide, maintain, and improve VocabApp
•
Authenticate users and prevent fraud or abuse
•
Process subscriptions and communicate about billing where appropriate
•
Respond to support requests
•
Comply with law and enforce our terms
We process personal information for these purposes in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
4. How we share information
We share information only as needed to run the Service:
Supabase (authentication, database, serverless functions, and related storage as configured for VocabApp)
OpenAI, DeepL (for features that call those services)
We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or security of users, the public, or the Service.
Processing may occur in countries where we or our vendors operate. Where personal information is transferred across borders, we take steps we consider appropriate to protect it consistent with this policy and applicable law.
We retain information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
When you delete your account through the in-app flow (subject to subscription restrictions described in our Terms), we remove your account and associated application data in line with how the Service is built. Limited records may still be retained where necessary for purposes such as legal, tax, fraud-prevention, or compliance, or as held by payment and infrastructure providers under their own policies.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
7. Your choices and rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export certain personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing.
•
Account deletion: You may self-delete your account in the app when eligible (see our Terms of Service and in-app instructions). Deletion is not available while paid access is still in effect; you must cancel through Manage subscription (Stripe Customer Portal) and wait until your account has returned to Free before deletion can complete.
•
Other requests: Email support@tamav-inc.com.
The Service may link to third-party sites or services. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Read their policies before providing information.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version and revise the “Last updated” date. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice (for example, by email or in-app message) where required by law.
